Rosie started her life at the home of a hoarder, “existing” in one room with 100 other cats. They lived in cold and darkness and were no stranger to hunger. The abuse and neglect was unforgivable. Parasites and fleas took their toll. Most suffered with ear mites, chronic diarrhea, skin lesions and a host of other ailments. But Rosie held on, in spite of her small frame. She watched as others grew weaker daily. Had it not been for a neighbor complaining to animal control about the overpowering stench emanating from the hoarders house, all might have perished. When animal control arrived and realized the magnitude of the problem, SpayMart was asked to do a rescue in lieu of euthanizing 100 cats. It was a huge challenge for the grassroots organization, but SpayMart took them all. Providing space, daily care and vetting expenses for this number of animals utilized most of the available resources the organization had to spare. But, somehow, the job got done and over 100 cats benefited, Rosie included. She has emerged as a gentle, living little creature, who asks for nothing more than a little love and attention, something she never had until arriving at the Spaymart shelter. After several years as part of the SpayMart family, she is quite ready to embark on her new life, as part of a home, and to experience a new life while she has the chance. Please consider offering that chance and making her dreams come true.
